Roof bars information and FAQ’sWith modern day designed cars, roof bar and roof rack systems have had to keep up with the ever changing designs and shapes of car roofs. Thule and Mont Blanc between them have a comprehensive roof bar solution. With hundreds of different fitting kits now listed and different roof bar systems required, gone are the days of one set of roof bars fitting 90% of cars. Thule offer a rapid roof bar system now that is both functional and incredibly stylish. With the Aero bars available roof bars can now look as stylish as items provided by the main dealer. Being in a kit form, it now means that a change of vehicle needn’t necessarily mean a whole new roof bar system. Mont Blanc are another Swedish manufacturer of roof bar systems for cars and offer a superb value for money product. Mont Blanc do a ready fit system with 20 part numbers providing 80% coverage of the car park. They come pre-assembled, have locks included and are a very popular choice. FAQ’s about roof bars. 1) Why should I buy the Aero bars as an upgrade? This is a 2 part answer; firstly aesthetically the Aero bars look superb and really finish off the look. More importantly we have had several comments in feedback that the Aero bars seem quieter at faster speeds compared to the square bars. 2) How do they fit to my car? Fundamentally there are three ways in which roof bars attach to cars and it depends on the type of car you have. Firstly if you have roof rails that run front to rear already the roof bars will use those rails as its anchor point. If you have pre-manufactured fix points in the roof of the car which are usually hidden under a flap, roof bars will come with feet and adapters to secure directly into those fix points. Lastly if the roof of your car is plain, the roof bars supplied come with large feet that sit on the roof of the car, you get an adapter kit that fits into the feet that reach out and underneath the roof and secure under the door frame on the underside of the roof. All systems are rigorously tested and are safe and reliable.
